Prime Minister's Challenge Fund

Prime Minister's Challenge Fund

By now you may already have heard that the Secretary of State for health has announced that West Wakefield (this includes Church Street Surgery, Chapelthorpe Surgery, Lupset Medical Centre, Middlestown Medical Centre, Orchard Croft Medical Centre and Prospect Surgery)  has been successful in its bid for the Prime Minister's Challenge Fund.

This is fantastic news for West Wakefield. We have been chosen as one of just a few winners out of over 250 that applied to the fund and on Thursday we had a visit from Jeremy Hunt, the Secretary of State for Health and Simon Stevens the new Chief Executive of the NHS to discuss the vision, plans and ambitions expressed in our bid. It is a wonderful opportunity to reshape GP services locally, improving access and integration of services while employing new technology and developing new more joined up ways of working.

This is of course just the beginning, we now have a lot of work to do in bringing our vision to life. We hope we can count on your continued support as we rapidly mobilise to deliver our plans.
